The focus of Dramabananas is to be a safe place in which young people can learn new skills, build confidence, gain experience, create and experiment.  We aim to enable introverts to grow in confidence and express themselves, and to provide focus for extroverts.

 

 

Weekly classes at Tanners Brook Primary School, Millbrook:

 

Monday Evenings: 

 

Mondays 6:00-7:30pm ages 4-11

We are hoping to start a seperate 4-7 years  class (years reception-2), to offer a

more age-oriented experience. Please get in touch if your child falls into this age group. 

​

Thursdays:

 

6:00 - 7:30pm NEW CLASS for ages 11-14 (school years 7-9), please get in touch to be put on the waiting list.

 

£72 per term

 

Discounts available for siblings, Looked-After Children and those receiving income support.

Classes typically involve:

• Popular warm-ups and cool-downs used by professional theatre practitioners

• Fun drama games commonly used by theatre professionals

• Improvisation exercises to improve creative thinking

• Devising (working together to create your own plays!)

• Scriptwriting

• Rehearsing and performing plays from popular scripts – modern, classic, musical and obscure, whatever takes our fancy!

• Singing, dancing, rapping/spoken word

• Workshops focussed on specific practitioners, with an opportunity to learn about and try out their individual styles

• Workshops focussed on particular elements of theatre – working with masks, Shakespeare, Emotional Literacy and how to perform with conviction, Stage Combat, Comedy, theatre from around the world and many more…

• Opportunities to perform in end of term shows, our summer and Christmas productions.
